Rain Water Harvesting - First Rain Centre in India - with IITM alumni support

ABSTRACT:

Most people from India need no introduction to water shortages. It is 50 years since Independence, we have not found a solution. Without water for just 4 days in a row, the human kidney gets into trouble. Whether you are rich or poor, water is a necessity. The current slogan used by Coca-Cola in India "if you cannot drink water,
drink coke" perhaps highlights the seriousness of the problem

As an IITM alumnus, have you heard of students in Narmada and other hostels, driving on a cycle with a bucket, going from one hostel to another in the morning looking for water. Yes, during hot summer months this happens.

Luckily there is a proven solution in the form of Rainwater Harvesting. The article below describes the technique, a few success stories in Chennai and what you can do to help reduce the water problem in Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Indore, Delhi, Kochi and every other city in India.
